Amazon KDP currently uses 50% or 60% royalty rates for standard print distribution depending on list price, with printing costs deducted. For Amazon.co.uk, KDP currently shows 50% at £7.98 or below and 60% at £7.99 or above.
Printing cost still matters
The royalty percentage is applied according to KDP’s formula and printing costs are then deducted, so page count, ink and trim specifications can materially change the amount earned per copy.
Expanded Distribution differs
KDP states that Expanded Distribution for eligible paperbacks uses a different royalty rate and is not available for hardcover books.
